Local Attractions

This peaceful pocket of rural tranquility offers beautiful countryside, picturesque villages and access to diverse coastal features, it is an area rich in history. This is the area that Boadicea , the warrior-queen, raised her army to revolt against the Roman occupation, where centuries of toil have created the lakes, canals and dykes that make up the broads and fenland, and where to this day the ancient art of reed cutting for traditional thatch roofing continues. From castles to mighty cathedrals, to country houses and gardens including the world renowned Bessingham Gardens and steam museum, which is only five minutes away, this area is well worth taking the time to discover.
