B&B Net Ref No. EDG001 - bed and breakfast in Bromley B&B in Bromley, Kent. A short ride from central London |

Sue & Colin offer a warm welcome to their home |

|
Sue and Colin, your hosts, love their home and gardens in Bromley, Kent (which is just a short ride from central London) and offer guests a warm welcome to their bed and breakfast home which is tucked away and surrounded by trees at the end of a quiet and secluded cul-de-sac. Gloriously colourful, light, bright and airy in Spring/Summer, warm, snug and cosy in Autumn/Winter. We genuinely enjoy looking after our guests and believe that the ambiance and welcome offered in our comfortable modern home is truly special. We are proud to say that we frequently have guests returning to us. Indeed we claim the "B&B Net Record" for the longest staying guest; Les, who in his own words (written in our Visitor's Book) - "I came for two nights and stayed for seven months - need I say more?", and then, along came Keith for five nights and stayed 3-4 nights a week for 18 months. Then Val two nights a week for 12 months and we have sadly just bade farewell to Doris who stayed an average of 24/25 nights per year for more than four years! So, we must be doing something right and we still retain the trophy! Getting to and from central London : The bed and breakfast is within easy traveling distance from central London. From Charing Cross station in central London it's 25 minute train ride followed by a 15 minute walk from the local station, Elmstead Woods. Bromley is easily found by train from either Heathrow or Gatwick airports. Unfortunately owing to the open-sided staircase, your hosts are unable to accept young children and those with a severe visual impairment. They also regret that they are unable to offer kitchen/self catering, or refrigerated storage facilities. |

Your morning starts with a choice of Breakfast menu. If you have a large appetite, go for our excellent Full English breakfast; alternatively try our cold buffet platter, always served with home made preserves and often with a choice of Colin's home made bread; either will set you up for the day. Sue loves to cook, and is more than happy to offer an excellent one or two course supper at a very reasonable cost. A barbecue is another popular option, as is alfresco dining on our roof terrace – weather permitting. We are both keen sailors and are off sailing our Dragon racing yacht most Saturdays in sailing season (May-October), but because of this we are often unable to offer supper on Saturdays in sailing season as we can never guarantee what time we get back! |

We can accommodate up to 3 persons in our double and single bedded rooms, both of which have tea-making facilities, hair dryers, adaptors and even a brolly ! Both rooms have just been refurbished and whilst keeping the single room fairly similar, the double room has undergone a total transformation. One private bathroom with a power shower serves these two bedrooms (private facilities available by arrangement). There is a comfortable lounge for our guests with TV, DVD, Video, Radio/Cassette, a good selection of videos/DVDs, books, and an abundance of tourist literature/information to help you plan your days. Your lounge leads onto our roof terrace, a blaze of colour from Spring through to Autumn, from here you can watch the antics of our white doves, see foxes and squirrels at play and enjoy countless species of wild birds, then try to believe you are only half an hour from Central London! You can travel lighter as they supply shampoo/conditioner, soap, shower and bath gel, and make-up remover pads. Towels and flannels are changed daily and even fluffy bathrobes are provided for your use. This is a non smoking house. |

| Hi, just wanted to let you know how our stay went. Well, we were ever so pleased with the accommodation, and the hosts were terrific. We didn't feel like strangers in a strange country, it was more like being with family. I would recommend them highly to anyone. The food was great and Colin's bread was a terrific bonus served warm with breakfast. Thank you and please send a big hello to Sue and Colin. Iris & Robert Smith (alias..Bob & Becky) | |||||
| We have returned from our visit and I would highly recommend this B&B. The hosts Sue and Colin could not have been more welcoming and helpful to us during our stay. Sue and Colin really went out of their way to make our stay so enjoyable. Sue had so much information available on where to go/ what to do. She even helped with travel arrangements and Colin provided us with local maps which is beyond the call of duty. The homemade bread was something else. The B&B is set in a beautiful location and really is a home from home. Many thanks again for the great service and I have already recommended the service to some friends who intend traveling to the UK in the near future. Best regards - Catherine Condon |

| Just to say that Sue's B&B was excellent and your whole web site has transformed my B&B booking process (which used to be a nightmare !) Great stuff ! Adam Skeens | |||||
| Just to let you know we found everything fine over the weekend. We normally stay in a hotel and for the price could not fault the surroundings, cleanliness and food at this B&B. Sue and Colin were very helpful with directions - without their directions we would probably have still been looking for the church for our wedding and would have been much later getting home today. Thanks - Ann (UK- 4th July 2004). | |||||
